The Deccan Merchants Co-Operative Bank Limited is one the leading co-operative societies in Mumbai and in all over Maharashtra. There are 13 branches of the Bank located at different places in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune area, including a head office and a central office. The Deccan Merchants Co-Operative Bank Limited celebrated their centenary year in 2017. The small Marathi businessmen back in those starting days felt the need of establishing a co-operative society for themselves to support their financial obligations. Thus, they formed the Deccan Merchants Association in 16th April 1914. This association helped the small businessmen like cloth sellers, pharmacists, press owners and other people to support their financial needs. Then the Bank started on 20th August 1917 as the members of the association then felt the need to form a co-operative society. This society then came out as a bank in August 1937.
