The District Co-operative Bank Ltd., Bidar, was established in the year 1922 in Hyderabad. This bank was formed under the Hyderabad Co-operative Societies Act. The main objective of the bank when formed, was to cater to the financial needs of the farmers. The bank has never drawn back from granting short and medium term agricultural loans to the farmers. The bank, right from the inception point, had a clear view of their objective, which is now paying off as the bank now has an extended operating area in the whole Bidar district. After the reorganization of the states of India after independence, the District Co-operative Bank Ltd., Bidar have opened its first branch at Basavakalyan and the second one at Aurad. The activities of the bank have increased since then. As of now, the bank has 45 branches covering all the revenue circles of the bank. The bank got its banking license from RBI on the 15th of July 1998.
