Under the Co-operative Society Act, 1912; the Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative Bank was registered in August 1953. The actual operation of the bank was started on March 15, 1954. In the year 1955, Bank of Sirmour, the Joint Stock Bank, was merged with this Co-operative bank. The bank is functioning as the Apex Co-operative Bank in Himachal Pradesh and plays the lead role in development programs. Through affiliations, H.P.S.C.B. extended the banking facilities in five districts; KANGRA, KULLU, HAMIRPUR, LAHAUL & SPITI and UNA.
