Jijamata Mahila Sahakari Bank, named after the memory of the mother of King Shivaji Rajamata Jijau. This bank was particularly formed to support the weaker class of the society, women. It was the idea of the MLA then, Smt. Malatibai Shirole and Madhavrao Shirole (IRS). This bank has always tried to support the women financially and help them grow. Initially, the bank had collected its shares from distant villages in the district of Pune. Smt. Pratibhatai Patil, the honourable ex-President, inaugurated the bank. The first bank premises were established at Shaniwar Peth in Pune. The head office of the bank then has shifted in different places before shifting to its premises at Tilak Road. The bank has popularity as both an urban and a rural bank. Now the bank has 15 branches.
